自2007年以来 托马斯R. Farley '44 Seton Scholars program has been the academic home for incoming Prep 学生 with the most potential for academic excellence and distinction, preparing them for admission to the most competitive colleges and universities in the nation. This scholarship program identifies a cohort of 学生 who will embark on our most challenging curriculum opportunities, beginning the AP curriculum as Freshmen, pursuing an intensive testing and test preparation plan, and developing into individual exemplars of academic excellence, 创造力, 和完整性. Seton Scholar alumni have made their impact in higher education at institutions such as Brown, Penn, and Columbia, as well as receiving the most generous scholarships from a wide variety of excellent colleges and universities (see “Seton Scholar College and 大学接受”下面).
项目的亮点:
- Applicants who score in the top 5% on our Entrance Exam, who have demonstrated exemplary academic achievement in grammar or middle school, and who are willing to assume the mantle of leadership are invited to participate.
- All Seton Scholars are required to take AP Human Geography, Honors Physics 或物理科学, High Honors Theology and High Honors English as Freshmen. They choose whether to take Band or Gym, a foreign language (Mandarin H, 拉丁H, 西班牙H, 或意大利语H), and the level of 荣誉数学 appropriate for them.
- 大二的时候, 学生 are required to take AP World 历史, High Honors English and Theology, 荣誉数学, 语言与科学.
- In Junior year, 学生 begin to individualize their curricula, 而 all courses are taken at the Honors or AP levels.
- 到大三的时候, standardized test preparation and meetings with the Assistant Headmaster for 学者, 学校心理咨询, and 大学位置 are aimed at fostering the Seton Scholars unique interests, deepening his approach to academics, and gaining the best college placement outcomes.
